President Duterte Dares Sereno, And Morales To Resign With Him

October 01, 2017
President Rodrigo Duterte said on Saturday that Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales and Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno resigned with him

"I now challenge Carpio to resign with me at itong si Supreme Court Justice, sige nga," Duterte said during the installation of new Integrated Bar of the Philippines officers in Davao City.
ThePresident reiterated his earlier accusation of selective justice against Morales, saying that she should prioritize cases that have been filed before the Office of the Ombudsman years ago instead of focusing on the complaint filed by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV against him.
"Ikaw may kaso, Morales, unahin mo yung mga kaso na nai-file nang matagal na. You are in on a selective justice, pu------ bakit nauna yung mga, yung amin na hindi pa totoo," Duterte said.
The Office of the Ombudsman last week announced that it has started its probe into the alleged multi-billion peso wealth of Duterte and his family, based on Trillanes' complaint.

The Overall Deputy Ombudsman Arthur Carandang said Morales had allowed him to act in the complaint.

Sereno is facing with a impeachment complaint in the House of Representatives. The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption said they would file an impeachment complaint against Morales

Last August, detained Senator Leila de Lima said Duterte's tirades against Sereno and Morales were an indication of the president's desire to remove them from office.

Duterte had threatened to investigate the Office of the Ombudsman for alleged partiality and corruption.

During his speech, Duterte dismissed allegations of corruption against him.

He also reiterated that his supposed bank records containing millions of pesos are falsified.

He said he is willing to open his bank accounts.
